Art Lesson Policy:

Payment Policy

  • Accepted payment methods include e-transfer, and cheques.
  • Seats in group classes are secured only after full payment is received.
  • A $45 NSF fee is charged for each non-sufficient funds (NSF) cheque.
  • Lessons will stop if an NSF or declined payment occurs and will only resume once the account is brought up to date
  • If payment is not received on time, ArtiSonata Studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule lessons.
  • ArtiSonata Studio is not responsible for the outcomes of any external examinations or competitions.

Attendance and Absence 

  • Students are expected to arrive on time 
  • Lessons will end at the scheduled time regardless of a late arrival; no extra time will be added.
  • Missed lessons, including absences due to illness, vacations, long weekends, or March Break, are non-refundable, and no credits or make-up lessons will be offered.
  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel a lesson. 
  • All cancelled lessons (whether by teacher or student) must be made up. Tuition cannot be deferred to future terms.
  • Absences must be reported by email. A confirmation email will be sent for your records.

Lesson Cancellation and Scheduling Policy

  • All scheduling must be handled through reception staff only.
  • Any scheduling change requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the full lesson fee will apply, and no make-up lesson will be arranged.
  • If a cancellation is made with at least 24 hours’ notice, a make-up lesson will be scheduled.
    • Make-up lessons are subject to availability and cannot be rescheduled once booked.
    • Make-up lessons must occur within one month and cannot replace a regular lesson.
    • Each student can use 1 makeup lesson per month but you cannot accrue your unused makeup lessons.
  • Lessons start dates may be rescheduled if there are insufficient registrations.
  • If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, any prepaid fees will be fully refunded
  • In the event of severe weather, please call two hours before your lesson to confirm if classes are cancelled.
  • All requests for rescheduling or substitutions must be made within 30 days of the originally scheduled class.
  • Failure to reschedule within this period will result in the forfeiture of all paid fees.
  • ArtiSonata Studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule programs or classes.

Withdrawal

  • Students wishing to withdraw from lessons must provide two week’s written notice to ArtiSonata Studio. 
  • Credits from missed lessons are non-refundable upon withdrawal but can be used toward make-up lessons or other lessons.
  • ArtiSonata Studio reserves the right to suspend students due to non-payment, excessive absences, or inappropriate conduct.

 Holiday Closures

  • ArtiSonata Studio is closed on Ontario public holidays, including:
    • New Year’s Day
    • Family Day
    • Good Friday
    • Victoria Day
    • Canada Day
    • Labour Day
    • Thanksgiving Day
    • Christmas Day
    • Boxing Day
  • Statutory holidays are not included in the monthly tuition fee; no lessons will be scheduled or charged for these dates.

Behavioral Policy

  • All students must behave respectfully toward instructors and fellow members at all times.
  • Verbal or physical abuse of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • A verbal warning will be given for inappropriate behavior. Continued misconduct may result in removal from the studio and cancellation of enrollment.
  • Students must respect the work and space of others, as well as the studio environment.
  • Students are expected to clean their work areas and tools (including brushes) after use.
  • Materials, tools, and equipment must be handled with care and used appropriately. 
  • Students should wear comfortable, casual clothing that allows free movement and participation in creative activities.
  • Clothing should be appropriate and not restrict the student’s ability to engage in art-making.
  • Despite aprons being provided, students should be aware that clothes may still get stained.
  • Art activities may involve messy materials like paint, ink, glue, and clay.

**THERE WILL BE NO REFUND IF STUDIO DETERMINES TO CANCEL ANY REGISTRATION DUE TO ANY VIOLATION OF OUR CODE.

Food & Beverage Policy

  • The ArtiSonata studio is a nut-free environment to ensure the safety of all participants.
  • Non-spill containers are required for all beverages brought into the studio.
  • Food and drinks are not allowed in art-making areas to protect materials and projects.

Photographs and Video

  • Photographs and videos taken during classes or events may be used for marketing and publication purposes.
  • If you do not consent to the use of your child’s image, please submit a written request to ArtiSonata Studio.

Student Supervision & Responsibility Policy

  • Students will be held responsible for any damage to ALL materials, tools, or equipment due to misuse, and will be required to reimburse costs as determined by ArtiSonata Studio.
  • ArtiSonata Studio is not responsible for supervising students before or after lesson times.
  • ArtiSonata Studio values your consideration to have the Studio times start and finish on time. As a matter of respect to others, we appreciate your efforts to be on time before and after each time slot. Extra charges apply for any late pickup.
  • Please take care of your personal belongings. ArtiSonata Studio is not responsible for lost or missing items.
