
Music Lesson Policy / Music Theory Group Class Policy
Payment Policy
- ArtiSonata Studio is not responsible for the outcomes of any external examinations or competitions.
- Your monthly fee reserves your lesson at the same day and time each week.
- Lessons are offered on a monthly tuition basis, and the tuition is calculated according to the number of weeks in each month.
- All lesson fees must be paid in advance. Tuition payments are due on the last day of the current month, in advance for the next term unless otherwise stated.
- A new term begins on the first day of each month.
- If payment is not received on time, ArtiSonata Studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule lessons.
- Accepted payment methods include e-transfer, and cheques.
- A $45 NSF fee is charged for each non-sufficient funds (NSF) cheque.
- Lessons will stop if an NSF or declined payment occurs and will only resume once the account is brought up to date.
- Group lessons are billed by session. Full payment is required one week prior to the session start date.
Attendance and Absence
- Students are expected to arrive on time and bring all necessary materials for each lesson.
- Lessons will end at the scheduled time regardless of a late arrival; no extra time will be added.
- Missed lessons, including absences due to illness, vacations, long weekends, or March Break, are non-refundable, and no credits or make-up lessons will be offered.
- A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel a lesson.
- If less notice is given, it is at the teacher’s discretion whether a make-up lesson will be offered.
- All cancelled lessons (whether by teacher or student) must be made up.
Tuition cannot be deferred to future months. - Absences must be reported by email. A confirmation email will be sent for your records.
- For group lessons, Missed sessions cannot be made up. No refunds or credits will be issued for missed group lessons unless the program is cancelled by ArtiSonata Studio.
Lesson Cancellation and Scheduling Policy
- All scheduling must be handled through reception staff only.
- Any scheduling change requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
- The Studio will attempt to accommodate schedule changes subject to teacher availability.
- If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the full lesson fee will apply, and no make-up lesson will be arranged.
- If a cancellation is made with at least 24 hours’ notice, a make-up lesson will be scheduled.
- Make-up lessons cannot be rescheduled once booked.
- Make-up lessons must occur within one month and cannot replace a regular lesson.
- Each private lesson student is allowed one make-up lesson per month.
- All cancelled lessons (whether by teacher or student) must be made up. Tuition cannot be deferred to future months.
- If a teacher is unavailable, a substitute teacher will be provided.
- If no substitute is available, the lesson will be cancelled and a lesson credit will be issued, which must be used in the following month.
- Group lessons start dates may be rescheduled if there are insufficient registrations. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, any prepaid fees will be fully refunded.
- Due to the nature of group lessons, make-up lessons are not available for individual absences. Students may request materials from their teacher to cover missed content.
- In the event of severe weather, please call two hours before your lesson to confirm if classes are cancelled.
- ArtiSonata Studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule programs or classes.
Withdrawal
- Students wishing to withdraw from private lessons must provide two week’s written notice to ArtiSonata Studio.
- To withdraw from a group lessons, notice must be provided two week prior to the start of a new session.
- For group lessons, once a session begins, students are committed for the entire session. No partial refunds or credits are issued for early withdrawal.
- Credits from missed lessons are non-refundable upon withdrawal but can be used toward make-up lessons or other lessons.
- ArtiSonata Studio reserves the right to suspend students due to non-payment, excessive absences, or inappropriate conduct.
Holiday Closures
- ArtiSonata Studio is closed on Ontario public holidays, including:
- New Year’s Day
- Family Day
- Good Friday
- Victoria Day
- Canada Day
- Labour Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
- Boxing Day
- Statutory holidays are not included in the monthly tuition fee; no lessons will be scheduled or charged for these dates.
Photographs and Video
- Photographs and videos taken during classes or events may be used for marketing and publication purposes.
- If you do not consent to the use of your child’s image, please submit a written request to ArtiSonata Studio.
Student Supervision & Responsibility Policy
- ArtiSonata Studio of Music is not responsible for supervising students before or after lesson times.
- Parents/guardians are expected to arrive at least five minutes before the lesson ends to ensure prompt pickup. Extra charges apply for any late pickup.
- Please take care of your personal belongings. ArtiSonata Studio is not responsible for lost or missing items.
- Students will be held responsible for any damage to any instrument due to misuse, and will be required to reimburse costs as determined by ArtiSonata Studio.
Music Theory Group Class Policy
Regular attendance is strongly recommended, as concepts are cumulative and important for exam preparation.
If a student is absent, lesson notes and/or selected core lesson recordings may be provided for review.
Full lesson recordings are not guaranteed.
Students are responsible for catching up on missed work independently.
Make-up lessons or private replacement lessons will not be arranged for missed classes.
